Job Summary
This position performs complex administrative and financial functions in the Magistrate Court. Incumbents are responsible for serving court clerk in the courtroom and preparation of related court documents.

Essential Functions

Maintain case file information which may include: determining general case categories; assigning case numbers; entering data from case file; and other related activities.
Prepares court notices, subpoenas, sentences and warrants in accordance with legal standards in assigned area of responsibility.
Attend court sessions and maintain official record of recommendations and sentencing.
Maintain caseloads and scheduling for assigned court.
Accurately asses fines and fees, balance and prepare bank deposits.
Accurately enters and transmits data to outside agencies in accordance with the law.
This position also requires the completion of other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
One (1) year court experience or related experience
Minimum Age 21
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's Degree in business administration, paralegal, criminal justice or a closely related field.
Supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advanced knowledge of relevant Federal and Georgia laws, regulations and Court Rules pertaining to the Magistrate Court
Knowledge of County and Magistrate Court policies and procedures
Skill in operating modern technology and systems
Skill in analytical thinking and independent decision-making
Ability to manage time effectively
Ongoing development and maintenance of work related skills
Ability to use tact and courtesy in communicating with Elected Officials, colleagues, judges, attorneys, outside agencies,
and the general public
